Make it yours.
Five steps from template to a working Shopify store.
001.
Swap the brand
Rename SPOOL in the Navigation and Footer components, and in the Thread Print ring text.
Colours live in Styles (Page, Panel, Ink, Red). Type lives in the text styles (Hero, Display, Heading, Label).
002.
Add your products
CMS › Products. Each product has up to four colours: a name, a swatch, a photo, a Sizes list and two pin points.
Photos read best as transparent PNG or WebP cut-outs about 2000 × 1900 px. Pins are x, y in percent of the photo, e.g. 54, 68.
Turn on Featured for the product the Home hero should show.
003.
Connect Shopify
Select the Cart drawer chip in the Main layout and paste your store domain (your-store.myshopify.com).
Variant IDs: Shopify admin › Products › open a product › click a variant. The number at the end of the address (…/variants/44012345678901) is the ID.
Write each colour’s Sizes as S:44012345678901, M:44012345678902. Add :sold to mark a size sold out. Check out opens Shopify with the bag filled in, and discount codes pass through.
004.
Live price and stock (optional)
Shopify admin › Settings › Apps and sales channels › Develop apps › Create an app › Storefront API: allow unauthenticated_read_product_listings and unauthenticated_read_product_inventory, install, then copy the Storefront access token.
In the Cart drawer set Live data to Storefront API and paste the token. Buy Boxes then show live prices and mark sold-out sizes. Never paste an Admin API token (it starts with shpat_).
005.
Change the thread print
Select any Thread Print. Print: Rosette, Rings, Seal, Wordmark, or Image to thread your own logo (transparent PNG or SVG).
Ring text, thread colour, size and build time are all controls. Prints re-thread when a colour is picked in a Buy Box.
